echoes | a sound revolution
staged show with music for choir and band
As a wind band conductor I have always dreamed of a concert in which we add the voice of the choir to the band music that we perform so often and originally comes from stage works: musicals and operas of composers such as Bert Appermont, Edward Gregson, Johan de Meij, Leonard Bernstein, Claude-Michel Schönberg or Björn Ulvaeus. After painstaking work of arranging, adaptation and lyric translations, this dream finally came true in the form of ECHOES, thanks to the unbelievable work of Coro del Teatro Principal and its amazing stage director Marchu Lorente. They learned and sung the entire repertoire with an added staged movements tailored to each piece, and my beloved wind band of L’Avanç put the music from the pit. It has been one of the most important projects I've ever undertaken.
