Milan, la scala & Mzia bachtouridze
03/23
A short visit to one of the world capitals of opera, the city of Milan and its Teatro alla Scala.
I had the great privilege of receiving some advice and working on different titles from the repertoire with one of the most experienced piano repertorists: Mzia Bachtouridze has been principal pianist of Teatro alla Scala for over thirty years, working with such maestros as Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Chailly, Yannik Nezet-Seguin or Gustavo Dudamel, and accompanying in recital world figures Ramón Vargas, Barbara Frittoli or Vittorio Grigolo, among many others.
Certainly this is the city of design, and you can see it in each street and shop windows, restaurants, trains, museums and the Duomo and its Cathedral. Being lucky enough to attend Zeffirelli’s Bohème and Anna Netrebko and Yelena Bashkirova in recital, and coincide in the same city with the great pianists brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen!
